Bread Pakora or also called as Fried Bread is a quick snack for times when you feel like indulging and keeping it healthy at the same time.
10 minutes by watch and it's ready on the table .
Besan (Gram Flour) - 2 small cups
Salt - to taste
Bread - 4-5 slices
Jeera (Cumin seeds) - 1 tsp
Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
Fresh Green Chilli whole (chopped) - 1
red chilli powder - a pinch
Asfoetida powder (hing) - a pinch
Corriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Vegetable oil (for frying)
White vinegar (optional)
fresh Corriander leaves (for garnishing)
Heat the oil in a frying pan while you make other things ready. You may add a drop of vinegar ( it doesnot allow the bread to soak too much of oil while frying)
Take the bread slices and cut them in different shapes. (Kids get really excited to see that). Whole slice (square), cut in the centre with a knife ( 2 rectangular slices), take a cup and press hard on bread (round), cut diagonally (2 traingular slices) etc..
add all the above ingrediebts in a wide bowl, except bread. Pour in some water to make a paste like cosistency.
Dip the bread so that it's coated all over with the batter and drop in pan. Make sure the oil is completely hot.
Similarly do it with the other pieces as well (be extra cautious while frying and hot oil)
Remove them on a newspaper or any waste paper when lighly brown. (paper helps absorbing the excess oil)
Garnish with corriander leaves, Serve hot with Tomato ketchup and grated raddish and carrot as well , to add on .
