A Traveller's Diary



Donot throw away the left overs hereafter. Learn to reuse old cooked rice.


Ingredients -

Cooked rice : 2 cups

Oil for deep frying

 Gram flour : 2 tbsp

Roasted peanuts :crushes 1/2 cup

Ginger (finely chopped)

Corriander leaves (fresh): 1 tsp

Cumin seeds : 1 tsp

Chat masala :1 tsp

Red chilli powder : 1/2 tsp

Salt to taste


Method -

Place rice in a bowl. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai. Add gram flour, peanuts, ginger, chaat masala, red chilli powder, salt and corriander - cumin powder to the rice. Chop corriander leaves finely and add. Dampen your hands slightly, take small portions of the mixture and shape into round balls. Slide these balls into hot oil and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on a tissue paper and serve hot and along with chutney :)
